Event Schedule

Grenada Sailing Week will take place from Monday 29 January – Saturday 3 February, 2018.

(Our Regatta Office is located at The Connection, upstairs Gleans Garage on Lagoon Road in St. George’s. )

Please note there have been some IMPORTANT changes to the event schedule. In particular with regards to the J24 class and the dates the event will be held at each marina. Latest regatta schedule: 15 Jan 2018

Monday 29 Jan Welcome to the Regatta at Secret Harbour Marina

10h:00 – 16h:00 – Final Registration for ALL, incl. those registered & paid online

18h:30 – Skippers’ Briefing

20h:00 – Island Water World Welcome Party

 

Tuesday 30 Jan Mount Gay Rum Race Day 1 at Secret Harbour Marina

09h:30 – J24 Start of Racing between Glover Island & Pt Saline (09h:25 first warning)

09h:55 – Fleet Start Racing off Prickly Bay (09h:55 first warning)

18h:30 – Prize-giving for the day’s racing

20h:00 – Mount Gay Red Cap Party

 

Wednesday 31 Jan Secret Harbour Race Day 2 at Secret Harbour Marina

09h:30 – J24 Start of Racing between Glover Island & Pt Saline (09h:25 first warning)

10h:00 – Fleet Start Racing off Prickly Bay (09h:55 first warning)

18h:30 – Prize-giving for the day’s racing

20h:00 – Secret Harbour Pirate Party

 

Thursday 1 Feb Lay Day at Secret Harbour Marina

12h:00 noon – Pool BBQ – other activities to be confirmed

 

Friday 2 Feb Sea Hawk Paints Race Day 3 at The Victory Bar, Camper & Nicholson’s Port Louis Marina

10h:00 – J24’s & Fleet Start of Racing off Prickly Bay (09h:55 first warning) and race around Point Saline to the West coast to continue racing in the Grand Anse area

2nd race onwards

J24 – race their own up/down courses north of the Laddie marker.

Fleet – race off Grand Anse with first windward mark being the Laddie buoy

Finish off Grand Anse with after race activities at CNN’s Port Louis Marina

18h:30 – Prize-giving for the day’s racing

20h:00 – Sea Hawk Paint Party with DJ Blackstorm

 

Saturday 3 Feb Pure Grenada Race Day 4 at Victory Bar, CNN’s Port Louis Marina

09h:30 – J24 race their own courses north of the Laddie marker. (09h:25 first warning)

10h:00 – Fleet Start Racing off Grand Anse – first windward mark is the Laddie Buoy (09h:55 first warning)

18h:30 – Final Prize-giving for day’s racing & Overall Winners

21h:00 – Final Wrap Up Party with SOLID, the band charged by TREO and DJ King Turbo

 

N.B. Please take special note of the following:

  • On Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday the J24 Class start their racing half an hour before the rest of the classes in the fleet
  • Lay Day is on Thursday 1st Feb at Secret Harbour
  • The transition race, which is the first race on Friday 2nd Feb, starts at 10am and takes the boats of All Classes, including the J24’s, from the South coast around Point Saline to the West coast for further racing off Grand Anse

 

Reservations:please contact host marinas early to make your reservation. Let them know your boat is participating in the regatta to benefit from any special discounts/free services.
